singapore cable car x oic (organisation of illustrators council) cable car design as part of national day celebrations. invited as one of the 10 oic artists to design stickers to wrap the cable cars. since the fireworks display has always been the highlight of national celebrations, i incorporated it into my design along with other iconic visuals of singapore. click here for more photos.

had the honour of contributing to the fun pack design. having grown up watching the skyline change at an unerring rate, i am amazed and proud of the exact and deliberate planning that goes into shaping our cityscape as well as the sheer speed with which this tiny red dot is growing both in terms of infrastructure as well as presence. so i decided the visual should be done in a continuous line to represent the collective and unceasing effort we have put in. coincidentally the straits times, singapore’s main newspaper, carried the photo-story on the front page along with a separate article on MAS (monetary authority of singapore). what are the odds, eh?

loved working on these character designs for maritime port authority (logo on poseidon’s trident) cos i’ve always had a penchant for monsters and clash of the titans (circa 1981).

featured in uk-published tote bag book with designs from around the world including medicom, eboy, jon burgerman and jeremyville. my profiled design below and more details of the book here.
blurb reads: “‘My name is Mas and I am a compulsive doodler.’ This is how a confession begins when you ask graphic artist Mas Shafreen to describe himself. He is ready to prove it, with drak circles under his eyes from fervently sketching and scribbling all night. ‘Everything’s Coming Out Roses’ is the name of this tote, produced under the name of the Wanton Doodle company. The creator reveals its meaning: ‘the gravity of any situation is very dependent on perception, so anything can be beautiful, even projectile discharge.’”
